Historic VFW Post 49 Property Sold to Corona Auto Sales

Merrill P. Thomas Co., Inc. is pleased to announce the successful sale of the property located at 2528 Government Boulevard in Mobile, Alabama. The property, formerly owned by the VFW of Alabama,  Robert L. Bullard VFW Post 49, was sold to Corona Auto Sales LLC. Mike Reid, Director of Brokerage at Merrill P. Chartered on January 5, 1934, VFW Post 49 was one of Alabama’s oldest and most storied posts. At its peak, it was the 7th largest post in the VFW nationwide, with over 1,200 members. Despite ongoing efforts to recover, the post was officially retired by the VFW State and District, with a formal ceremony held on June 5, 2024.
