Merrill P. Thomas Co., Inc. is pleased to announce the successful leasing of a 1,200-square-foot office space at University Square Shopping Center, located on Old Shell Road in Mobile, Alabama, to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is a major engineering command within the U.S. Army and the Department of Defense and is recognized as one of the world’s largest public engineering, design, and construction management organizations. USACE provides critical engineering services that support national security, strengthen the economy, and reduce risks from natural disasters.
USACE’s core mission areas include civil works such as navigation, flood risk management, shore protection, ecosystem restoration, hydropower, and water supply management. In addition, USACE delivers military construction, engineering, and real estate services for the U.S. Army, Air Force, other Department of Defense agencies, and allied governments worldwide. The organization also plays a vital role in emergency response efforts under the National Response Framework, particularly in response to hurricanes, floods, and other natural disasters.
